Summary:
Ra.D
released his 3rd album called “Fly Away,” which the lyrics contain
contents regarding the desire to be freed from suffocating, busy and boring
daily routine. As you can see, in the Music Video (MV), Ra.D challenges himself
to do bungee jumping and he is the first artist in South Korea to include his
bungee jumping experience in the MV.
Influence/Connection:
I chose
this song because it reminds me of after high school graduation in 2012, when I
really wanted to take a gap year before college. At that time, I just wanted a
break from everything not that I have made any special plans. However, my
parents did not allow me to do that because they thought I was still going
through puberty, so I just forced myself to complete the military service for
10 months in Taiwan because I was not ready to move onto the next stage of my
life. Now, I just finished my freshmen year this semester in college and I have
completed 23 classes in one year because my goal is to early graduate in 7
semesters. This is because I am planning to use the 8th semester to
travel around the world, leaving every burdens and thoughts behind before I
enter a real society.

Park Jun
Hee released her 6th album called “My History,” after a long
interval of 17 years. In this song, she describes her tough times when she was
trapped in one particular place for a long period and wondering when good times
will come.
Influence/Connection:
I chose
this song because it reminds me of after I completed my military service in
2013. Because I transferred to international school in Korea for two years:
junior and senior years in high school, none of my friends from high school are
Koreans or Taiwanese. Thus, I am the only one who needed to do military service
and when I came back in 2013, most of my friends finished their freshmen year
or even sophomore year for students who passed the Advanced Placement
curriculum during high school. It felt like I got stuck in one place and fall
behind others because I was still working on my college applications, while my
friends all moved onto the next stage and get to meet with new people. Now, I
just envy my friends who will start their graduating year in September but I
learned to recognize by heart that life is a marathon so I do not really have
to rush through my life, trying to keep up with others.

Summary
This song
is a mini album, released by Park Jun Hee, regarding how she sometimes misses
her first love. According to the lyrics, she describes that due to a certain
situation they had to release each other which makes her miss the first love
more.
Influence/Connection:
Personally,
I do not really enjoy listening to break up or romantic songs but the lyrics
really caught my attention. In May 2014, I was able to meet with my first love
from high school because she visited Korea during her summer vacation. We were
dating for almost a year, but had to release each other because she was going
to study in the U.S. Similar to the song, she sometimes pops up in my mind and
I still miss her a lot when I get drunk.
